SHOULD I GET MY WATCH SERVICED?

The movement of your watch is a mechanical masterpiece, with countless interacting parts working in synchrony. The lubrication of these parts is very important, as if even one fails, serious damage can be done. What’s more, over time parts can wear, which may also result in damage to the movement of the timepiece.

This is why servicing a watch is so important. The process involves the stripping down and ultrasonic cleaning of the movement, ensuring that it remains in the best possible working order.

Watch servicing from GWS includes each component being first checked for wear, then repaired or replaced as necessary. Following this, the movement is reconstructed with the necessary lubrication in place. Once complete, the watch is regulated to the movement’s required alternations per hour, re-sealed and pressure tested to comply with the manufacturer’s water resistance specifications.

Quartz powered watch movements can be repaired or replaced, depending on the defect of the circuits, coils and components. Depending on your specific watch and the condition it’s in, our Service Technicians will work out the most cost-effective way for you to proceed and give you the options available.

Rest assured that, following a service through GWS, we offer a 12 month warranty, covering any faults to the movement and parts that were replaced at the time of service.
